What is coloring of the skin?

Pigmentation refers to colouring and skin coloring problems affect the colour of the skin. Your skin obtains natural color from a pigment called melanin.

– Hyperpigmentation – we can consider them as the “simplest” kind of coloring disorders. They take place when our body generates an excessive amount of melanin. Hyperpigmentation is shown by tanned, brownish, or black spots or places on the skin. One of the most typical form of this skin problem is melasma that is likewise referred to as the mask of pregnancy.

– Hypopigmentation – is also called vitiligo and it happens when manufacturing of melanin is insufficient. It is indicated by white spots of the skin.

– Pigment condition that happens after skin damage – e.g. after ulcers, blisters, etc.
